What’s inside

Training providers by topic, then Alberta conferences

  • Opening note on fundingThe directory starts by saying the list is always changing and that funding requirements can shift. It asks readers to verify current eligibility and requirements with the Alberta Child Care Funding team and gives the email address.
  • Leadership, Operations & Owner/Director SkillsProviders of leadership, staffing, systems and team-culture training, each with a website and a two- or three-line description.
  • Quality, pedagogy, inclusion and behaviourThree headings: Quality, Pedagogy & Program Improvement; Inclusion, Diverse Needs & Support Strategies; and Behaviour Guidance, Regulation & Well-Being.
  • Storytelling, Language, Play & Creative CurriculumProviders focused on oral language, story, music and play-based curriculum. Two providers appear under more than one topic and are marked “also fits here”.
  • Alberta ConferencesListed in two groups: an Owner/Director / Leadership Conference, and Educator & Sector Conferences covering practice, leadership and emerging topics.

Tips from operators

What centers that use this well do differently

Learned the hard way across 3,000 child care spaces — and from the directors and educators who join our Lunch & Learns and Learning Labs.

Treat it as a starting list

The directory itself says it is always growing and changing. Providers, websites and conference dates may have changed since it was written, and a listing is not a recommendation.

Ask about funding before you book

Funding requirements can shift. Email the Alberta Child Care Funding team with the specific course before you pay for it.

Plan conferences early

Conferences run on fixed dates. Check each organiser’s website for the current year’s dates and registration deadlines when you build your annual plan.

Read more FAQs
Is this a complete list of Alberta PD providers?

No. The opening note says the list is always growing and changing and that new training opportunities become available regularly. Use it as a starting point.

Does being listed mean a course is funded?

No. The directory does not state that any listing is eligible for funding. It asks you to verify current eligibility and requirements directly with the Alberta Child Care Funding team.

Is the information current?

Check before relying on it. The PDF is undated, one conference entry refers to 2026, and provider offerings and web addresses can change. Confirm details on each provider’s own website.

Is it useful outside Alberta?

Partly. The conferences and the funding note are Alberta-specific. Whether a listed provider offers training elsewhere or online is something to confirm with them.
